Open DayZ Discord Server

In light of DayZ Standalone releasing server files, we have created a Discord Server for everyone to join!

Snippet from the #rules section of the server:

Mining

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that you can mine for rocks using the sledgehammer. I went to the Quary, held the sledgehammer over one of the rocks and the option to "Mine" popped up, indicating if I held the left mouse button, I could mine. When I do that, I get the circle with the white bar spinning, like you see just before you start an action (loading a magazine, opening a can etc) but I can't mine. If I need a pickaxe, why would the sledgehammer give me the "Mine" option?!

This is NOT my server. I am not connected to it in ANY WAY AT ALL.

But as it is such an unusual thing, to see a new Epidemic Server, 5 years after most of them shut down,
I've tried it, it works, it's great to revist Celle after all these years.

Change Loading Screen

In the DayZ Beta, we were able to change the Loading Screen logo.

I did a quick look at the files, and so much as changed, or i just can't find the settings.

Has anyone else been able to find where the loading screen settings are?

When I release this, I will highly recommend using SARGE or DZAI and creating static spawn points inside for AI.

Hey all been a long time since I have been around the DayZ community. Now that server files are released I would like to get back into some server modding / hosting etc... I have played around with the server to some degree but I have noticed quite a few changes. So I guess I will start with the most simple one so far. In the database we no longer have positions or inventory or anything of that sort.. Can these values still be edited or are they not accessible any longer? For example if...

EDDS format and how to make

so a edds appears to be a TGA in a different wrapper.

so you can change/make a EDDS file like so

1. create a TGA image and save
2. rename from .tga to .edds

Is there a way to save to a MySQL DB instead of the players.db SQL file that it currently saves too? Also, I find it kind of weird that hosting server has to be connected to a steam account that owns the game, very weird in fact since your just running s server.

Server vs Client - what we know so far

so i thought id post what is currently server side and what is client side that we (the community) have discovered so far so we (the community) dont go chasing the rabbit down the hole trying to get a feature/script working thats coded to the client :p

SERVER
player loadouts on spawn / starting inventory
player spawn points
loot spawn points
loot spawning
weather


CLIENT
any UI (debug/ammo/etc)
loading screen


UNKNOWN
player stats...

so a little google found me that the standalone still has the ability to use SQF

a certain site uses certain code to inject SQF to ruin our dayz.....

now how do we call it legitly from the server???????

The Killin Zedz community, which was formed in early 2013, has returned to run a DayZ SA Experimental 0.63 server! Over the years, we've had servers for DayZ mod as well as it's offspring (Epoch mod for example). We expanded into Arma 3 mods as well, but the community was shut down earlier this year due to a lack of anything new to play and boredom.
